Premier contact avec les Rotariens / First contact with Rotarians

La semaine s'est bien passee. J'ai eu un seminaire d'orientation avec le Rotary le dimanche 18 septembre avec les gens de differents clubs. La presidente Vicki Radel est tres gentille. (Elle est au centre sur la photo, habillee en vert). Tout le monde est tres gentil en fait! C'est incroyable comme ils aiment recevoir des etudiants etrangers. On peut vraiment sentir chez eux un reel besoin de communication et d'echange culturel. Ce qui est le plus surprenant, c'est que ces gens donnent beaucoup de leur temps libre... A notre epoque, c'est plutot rarevous ne pensez pas?! De gauche a droite sur la photo: un representant du Rotary du club de West-Hollywood (en bleu), 4 boursiers qui viennent d'Asie et du mexique, le Gouverneur du District Ingo Werk (habille en vert), un autre representant d'un Rotary club, moi et Benedikt Brydern (mon parrain), puis 3 autres representants de clubs devant nous et enfin 2 autres boursiers du Rotary. On a eu une reunion dans le jardin de la propriete de West-Hollywood de John et Gale, qui sont des membres du Rotary. Tres belle maison en tout cas! John m'a explique que beaucoup des maisons voisines ont appartenu a des Stars Hollywoodiennes des annees 50.

This week was good. I had a seminar with the Rotary on September 18th. The responsable Vicki Radel is very kind.(she is in the center of the photo dressed in green). Everybody is kind actually! It is unbeleivable how these people like to be with students from others countries. We can see they like to communicate and have a cultural exchange. I am very impressed becausethey give to us a lot of their free time... This is very rare to meet people like them now, isn't it? From left to right on the photo: someone from the Rotary club of West-Hollywood (dressed in blue), 4 scholars from Asia and from Mexico, 5280 District's Governor Ingo Werk (dressed in green), an other person from a Rotary Club, me and Benedikt Brydern (my host councelor), and Gloria and 3 others members from diferents Rotary Clubs in front, and 2 others scholars. We had an apointmentin Gale & John's house close to West-Hollywood. Their house is wonderful! John told me that many 50's Hollywood stars used to have houses in this area.
